About Me

Doula1I began Birth Arc Doula Service in June 2012 after certifying as a Holistic Doula through the Matrona. My training covered anatomy and physiology, prenatal care, holistic birth, the normal newborn, breastfeeding, placenta medicine, and postpartum care. I am also certified in first aid as well as adult and infant CPR.

Since 2006, I have worked as an advocate for women, primarily as a sexual assault, stalking, and relationship violence educator. After earning my BA in Philosophy from Lehigh University, I spent about a year traveling before settling in Texas.

I believe childbirth is a normal, yet deeply powerful experience. Working closely with care providers and birth professionals in the community, I strive to serve self-directed women and their families throughout their journey. I hope to be a resource and advocate for anyone who needs help navigating the many choices involved in birth.

My mission is to be a supportive resource throughout pregnancy, labor, and the postpartum period. I am committed to caring for families from all circumstances and backgrounds.
